Vivi’s whiteboard tool allows teachers and students to annotate over a blank canvas or to load a background image and annotate over that.

To use, select Whiteboard from a room’s homepage.

Along the top, the tools available, from left to right, are:

  • Back - returns to the room’s homepage.

If returning to the room’s homepage, annotations will remain in the whiteboard so users can go in and out as necessary.

  • Clipboard - copies the current page to the clipboard so that it can be pasted into another app.

  • Save to Device - saves the current page to the device.

  • Set Background Image - allows the user to load a background image which will apply to all pages.

When loading a Background Image, all existing annotations will be deleted.

  • Clear All - clears all pages in the whiteboard.

  • Save To Cloud - saves the current page to Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Microsoft OneNote.

  • Shrink Window - exits full screen mode.

  • Present My Screen - begins sharing the user’s screen to the classroom display. This button can be long pressed to access Split Screen (refer to section 3.10 for further information).

If currently sharing, the Present My Screen button will not be present and instead, the following buttons will be available.

  • Student Feedback - begin an Assessment or a Poll (refer to section 3.9 for further information).

  • Stop Presenting - stops presenting the user’s screen to the classroom display.

  • Pause - freezes the classroom display.

Along the bottom, the tools available, from left to right, are:

  • Select - select, move, resize, and rotate elements on the page.

  • Pen - freehand drawing tool.

  • Insert Text - allows for typed text to be placed on the page.

  • Highlighter - freehand, semi-transparent drawing tool.

  • Draw Shapes - allows for shapes to be placed on the page including rectangles, circles/ovals, and lines

  • Eraser - removes individual elements from the page.

  • Stroke Width - alters the width of lines for Pen, Highlighter and Shapes.

  • Select Colour - alters the colour of different tools.

  • Clear Whiteboard - clears that individual page.

  • Boards - allows users to move between individual pages (boards). Vivi’s Whiteboard tool contains 50 pages.
