Starting the Whiteboard Independently
The whiteboard can be launched directly from the display:
Tap the Vivi Interactive icon on the left hand side of the display
Tap Whiteboard from the menu
The whiteboard will launch directly on the Vivi device
⚠️ When started independently from Vivi Interactive, the whiteboard runs on the Vivi device only and is not connected to any client device until a teacher share the whiteboard from the Vivi Client.
Connecting the Client to an Active Display Whiteboard
If a whiteboard session was started independently via Vivi Interactive on the display, and a teacher subsequently launches the whiteboard from their Vivi Client, they will be prompted to either keep or discard the existing board.
📘 This prompt is specific to whiteboards started directly from Vivi Interactive. If the whiteboard was shared from a Vivi app, this dialog will not appear.
Option | Behaviour |
|---|---|
Keep | The existing whiteboard on the display is synced to the teacher's client device and the session continues |
Replace | The existing whiteboard on the display is cleared and a new whiteboard session is started on the client device |
⚠️ Selecting Replace will clear the whiteboard currently on the display.
📘 Once connected via the Vivi Client, all whiteboard functionality remains the same. Refer to the Whiteboard - Features & Functionality documentation for full details.
Live Draw During Screen Share
When a Share Screen session is active from the Vivi Client, Vivi Interactive will display two additional options on the display:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Live Draw | Opens an annotation toolbar directly on the display, allowing the teacher to draw, highlight and write over the shared screen in real time |
Stop | Stops the active screen share session directly from the display |
How to Annotate from the Display
Start a Share Screen session from the Vivi Client
Tap the Vivi Interactive icon on the display
Tap Annotate — the annotation toolbar will appear on the display
Use the toolbar to highlight, draw or write over the shared screen
To stop the screen share at any time, tap Stop from the Vivi Interactive menu
⚠️ Live Draw cannot be saved directly. However, students can screenshot them using the existing screenshot functionality in the Vivi App. They will will not be available when you return to the same board in a future session.
