A number of features of Vivi require media to be uploaded. These include:
- Splash screens for the organisation, locations and rooms
- Digital signage, and
- Emergency management

Media such as images and videos need to be loaded in Vivi Central before they can be used. Media can be used as splash screens for the organisation, a location or a room, as Digital Signage, or to provide custom images for emergency management.

Important things to know about media

- A maximum of 20GB of content can be uploaded.
- Each Vivi Box can store 2.5GB of content at a time. Each Box will sync content for active Digital Signage schedules, and only holds the required media.
- Supported image types are: jpg, jpeg, gif (non-animated), png.
- Supported video types are: avi, flv, mkv, mov, mp4, m4v, wmv, asf.
- Supported audio types are: mp3, wav, wma, m4a.
- Image sizes must be exactly 1920x1080. Images will be modified on upload to fit this size.
- Maximum image size is 10MB.
- Maximum video size is 200MB. This applies to local video files, not to Internet video file links.
- Maximum audio file size is 20MB.

To add media to Vivi Central:
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose the type of media to be created.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Options for adding media
The process is outlined in more detail below
Adding Images
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose "Add image".
- Select the type of image that is being uploaded. Options are "Splash and emergencies", or "Signage".
- Choose the file or drag and drop the file into the drag and drop window.
- For images that are not 1920x1080 in size, select whether they are to be adjusted to fit, or whether black borders should be added. The preview window shows the difference between the two options.
- Click "Submit" to upload the image.

Adding Videos
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose "Add video".
- Choose the file or drag and drop the file into the drag and drop window.
- Click "Submit" to upload the video.
Adding Audio
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose "Add audio".
- Choose the file or drag and drop the file into the drag and drop window.
- Click "Submit" to upload the audio.
Adding Video Links
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose "Add video link".
- Enter a name for the video, and the URL for the video.
- Click "Create" to add the video link.

Adding Website URLs
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Click on "Add Media" and choose "Add website URL".
- Enter a name for the website.
- Add the website URL.
- Choose how often (from 1 minute to 60 minutes) the website should be refreshed.
- Click "Create" to add the website URL.

To delete media from Vivi Central:
- Select the "Media" link in Vivi Central.
- Find the media item that is to be deleted.
- Click the "Delete" button next to the corresponding media item.
