Portrait mode is a feature which will allow you to display your signage media in portrait orientation.

Enabling Portrait mode:

  • Navigate to the room in Vivi Central and select the Vivi unit associated to that room

  • Press the Edit button in the top right

  • Under the Details tab, scroll to the end of the page and tick ‘Enable Portrait Mode’ to activate the feature in this room. You can also select which portrait orientation (clockwise or anticlockwise) is suitable for this room

To ensure an image is displayed correctly in portrait orientation, make sure that the media you have uploaded has your desired settings for resizing (see example image below).

A few points to note around Portrait mode for signage:

  • If a landscape Video/PowerPoint presentation is being displayed on a portrait display, it will appear in a letterboxed style with black paddings on the top and bottom

  • If a portrait Video/PowerPoint presentation is being displayed on:

    • a portrait display: It will appear full size on the portrait screen

    • a landscape display: It will appear with black paddings on the side

  • Both Websites and Google slides will be rendered in full screen portrait mode on Portrait displays

  • All Vivi widgets will have both landscape and Portrait versions. Based on the box’s setting, the widget will appear in full screen mode

  • No labels
