The following table outlines the different product related terms that have been used within the Admin Guide.
Vivi product definitions

Display	The display (for example, screen or projector) that is directly connected to a Vivi Box
Local Video Direct	Vivi functionality that allows videos on local devices to be played to Vivi-enabled Displays.
Service Announcement	Ad-hoc email to clients regarding important service announcements.
Vivi Central	Main administration platform for managing the Vivi environment
Web Console	Administrative website that is installed on each Vivi Box. Used to configure each Box and perform administrative tasks.

AD	Active Directory	Microsoft product for storing information about users, groups and devices.
ADFS	Active Directory Federation Services	Microsoft product for managing user authentication to different applications.
Apple AirPlay		Apple AirPlay is a proprietary technology used by Apple for wireless streaming of audio, video and device screens between devices.
DHCP	Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol	A protocol that is used to request an IP address from a Domain Name Server.
DN	Distinguished Name	The full name and location of an object in an LDAP directory.
DNS	Domain Name Server	Network infrastructure that allocates IP addresses to devices on the network, and manages the network connection details.
GUID	Global Unique Identifier	A unique identifier that is used by software programs to distinguish between different devices, interfaces, records and other objects.
HDMI	High-Definition Multimedia Interface	A standard cable for connecting high-definition video devices.
HTTP	HyperText Transfer Protocol	A protocol that defines how messages are formatted and transmitted across the world wide web.
iOS		The operating system used by mobile devices manufactured by Apple (for example, iPhones, iPads).
iPerf		iPerf is a network performance measurement and tuning tool that is used to measure the performance of a network.
JSON		A syntax for storing and exchanging data, often for data sent from a web server to a web page.
LDAP	Lightweight Directory Access Protocol	A common standard used by applications to authenticate against a separate directory of user and group details.
MAC address	Media Access Control address	A unique hardware identification number for each device that can connect to a network.
MITM	Man-in-the-middle attack	A type of attack where a malicious third-party intercepts network traffic between two parties and can either detect supposedly secure traffic, or potentially alter it. Meanwhile, the two parties still believe that they are contacting each other directly over a secure network connection.
NTLM	NT LAN Manager	A suite of Microsoft security protocols that are used for managing user authentication.
NTP	Network Time Protocol	A protocol that is used to synchronize time information between computer systems.
SNMP	Simple Network Management Protocol	A protocol for collecting and organising information about devices on a network.
SSID	Service Set Identifier	The unique name for a Wi-Fi network.
SSL	Secure Sockets Layer	A cryptographic protocol that is used to provide secure communications over a network. This is now deprecated and replaced by TLS.
SSL Certificate		A data file that is used to set up an encrypted channel between two computer systems, typically between a user's machine and a server, or between two servers.
TCP	Transmission Control Protocol	A protocol for sending information over a network. This is an alternative to UDP. Unlike UDP, transmission of data via TCP is tracked and acknowledged once it arrives at its destination. It is slower but more reliable than UDP and is used for most Internet based services.
TLS	Transport Layer Security	A cryptographic protocol that is used to provide secure communications over a network. This protocol superseded SSL.
UDP	User Datagram Protocol	A protocol for sending information over a network. Typically used where the transmission of data needs to be sent quickly and it doesn't matter if some of the data is lost in transit. This is an alternative protocol to TCP.
