Wi-Fi Stats

To access the Wi-Fi Stats page, navigate to the ‘Devices' screen in Vivi Central. Here you’ll see your Wi-Fi devices will now show a colour indicating it’s Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). By hovering over the top of these icons you can now see more details of the SNR values including Signal, Noise and Transfer (TX) Rate.

Vivi does not collect information about devices connected to the network. The data collected for these statistics are: Signal strength, Noise level, and WAP connection status.

Detailed Stats

To navigate further into the advanced details of the Wi-Fi Stats, you can click on the MAC address of the device and navigate to ‘Wi-Fi Stats’ at the top of the page. There are three sections on this page which are the date range selector, the SNR graph and the individual records of each data point collected.

Date Range Selector

Once in the Wi-Fi Stats section of the Vivi device, you can filter the time range between Hour, Day, Week, Month and Quarter and all data will be presented in your local timezone. You can use the arrows next to the data range section to toggle back and forward between your selected option.

Vivi captures data on SNR values every 5 minutes and sends this data into Vivi Central.

SNR Graph

The SNR graph will show you the signal strength the Vivi device is receiving from your network, the Noise (or interference of the signal) and the total SNR value. For more information on SNR and how to troubleshoot issues, please refer to this article.

Ensuring that your SNR value is in the green portion of the graph (or as close to it as possible) will result in the best performance from your devices.

Individual Records

Vivi will capture the following individual records every 5 minutes and process this data into Vivi Central which will accumulate into the SNR graph above. Looking at the table below you will be able see even more detailed information on the connection details and performance of your Vivi:

  • Time and date of each 5 minute connection block

  • SSID (the name of the network the Vivi is connected to)

  • BSSID (the MAC address of the Wireless Access Point the Vivi is connected to)

  • Signal Strength

  • Noise

  • SNR value

  • TX rate (speed of the data that is being transmitted from the connected WAP)
