There are a number of settings related to video streaming that can be modified to suit your environment.

These include:

Settings

Platform

Description

Default stream resolution
Maximum stream resolution

All Platforms

The quality of the video stream can be changed, from standard definition 480p to high definition 720p and 1080p (Chromebooks are limited to 720p).

Default stream frame rate
Maximum stream frame rate

Windows, Chrome OS, Linux

The stream frame rate is the rate in which the frames are shown. Current options are 15 and 30 frames per second.

Default stream quality
Maximum stream quality

Windows, Chrome OS, Android, Linux

The bitrate can be increased from minimum to maximum, increasing quality of the video stream.

Default auto mute
Maximum auto mute

Windows

This option will auto mute the Box presenting but not the video stream the Box is outputting to Vivi. The Box will auto mute once the stream starts and revert back to the previous volume setting once the stream is stopped.

Default Hardware Acceleration

Maximum Hardware Acceleraion

Windows

This option when enabled will use the devices GPU for encoding instead of the CPU which is far more efficient

Please note: Setting the video stream to use a higher resolution, a higher frame rate or a higher stream quality will require more resources from the local machine and increases the network utilisation.

The video settings of the Vivi App can be adjusted at both an application level and administrator level.

In Vivi Central, defaults and maximums to stream resolution, frame rate, stream quality and auto mute can be set for all users within your organisation.

Users can also change these settings for themselves only in the Vivi App. However, they can only be changed within the maximum settings that are configured in Vivi Central.

To edit video streaming settings in Vivi Central:

  • Select the “Organisation” link in Vivi Central.

  • Select the “Stream Settings” link.

  • Click “Edit”.

  • Modify the settings as required.

  • Click on “Save Changes”.
