10. Announcements

Announcements are only available to select presenters within the organisation. If this is a feature you think you would use, please speak with your IT Administrator.
Announcements requires Vivi to be on at least version 3.7.3. Please ensure your Vivi app is up-to-date prior to using.
Vivi’s Announcements feature allows you to broadcast either live video streams or text messages to the Vivi displays throughout your organisation. If you have permission to use this feature, there will be an Announcements button at the top of the Vivi app. Select this button to begin.
Video Announcements
On the Announcements page, ensure that Video & Audio is selected at the top.
Use the Add Destination button to select where the announcement will be sent. If you have been given permission to send Video Announcements, you will see a list of pre-set groups that you can select from.
Once the destination of the Announcement has been selected in the pop-up, select Add.
Use the drop downs on the left-hand side to select the Camera and Microphone to be used.
On the left hand side, a preview of the video will be shown. Use the Mute button to turn off audio, the Camera button to turn off video, or the Share Screen button to begin sharing the display of the device you are on during the Announcement.
Once all the correct settings are selected, click on Start Video Announcement then, in the pop-up, confirm the details and select Start.
Once the Announcement begins, a notification will appear letting you know that the Announcement is in progress.
To finish the Announcement, select End Video Announcement.
Messages (Text Announcements)
On the Announcements page, ensure that Messages is selected at the top.
Use the Add Destination button to select where the announcement will be sent. The options that appear will depend on the permission given to you by your IT Administrator. You may see either the ability to select different locations and/or rooms, the ability to select pre-set groups, or the ability to choose from either of these.
Once the destination of the Announcement has been selected in the pop-up, select Add.
Type the Announcement to be displayed in the Message box. You can enter up to 150 characters which can include letters, numbers and symbols.
While typing, a preview of the Announcement will be shown on the left-hand side of the Vivi app.
Use the slider to choose how long the Announcement will be shown on the displays. You can choose between 1 minute and 15 minutes. Vivi will default to 1 minute if the slider isn’t touched.
Select Send Now then, in the pop-up, confirm the details and select Send.
The Announcement will now be shown on the selected classroom displays. If the display is currently showing the splash screen, the Announcement will be shown at the top of the display. If the display is currently showing either signage or someone is sharing to the display, the Announcement will be shown at the bottom.
The Announcement will automatically stop showing after the chosen time. Alternatively, it can be cancelled early by selecting the End Announcement button.
Note that the End Announcement button will only be available for the most recent Announcement. If you navigate away from the Announcements page, the End Announcement button will no longer be available.
Scheduling Announcements
This feature requires updates to the Vivi app and the Vivi hardware (Version 3.9.0 or newer). If the Schedule Announcements button is not available, ensure your Vivi app is up-to-date (you can check your app version by clicking on the Settings cog in the upper-right corner of the app. The Vivi Version will be displayed in the bottom-left of the pop-up). If still not available, speak to your IT Administrator.
Message (Text) Announcements can now be scheduled via Vivi Central. To do this, click on the Schedule Message on Vivi Central button. For more information on scheduling announcements, visit Scheduled Message Announcements
