Widgets
Digital Signage widgets allow you to add dynamic content to playlists that have up-to-date information whenever the signage is played. These widgets can be deployed to specific groups of displays to make sure that the right people are seeing the right information.
Widgets may be added to playlists for use in Digital Signage displays. All widgets support both landscape and portrait displays.
Available Widgets
Calendar | Both Google and Outlook calendar views are supported with our Calendar widget. There are three views which users can select from, namely, Daily view, Weekly view and Monthly view. |
Clock | Displays a clock, with configurable appearance (analog or digital). |
News | News is powered by Bing News, using safe search filters to remove content that might be inappropriate for schools. When configuring news, you may choose what news categories you wish to display. |
Timer | Displays a timer for the configured duration of the widget. |
Weather | Vivi’s weather updates are powered by Openweather, using a configured location, units, and forecast type (daily, weekly). |
Adding a Widget
Widgets can be added to signage through the Select Content window when creating or editing a Playlist or Signage Schedule.
Select the Widgets from the list of content types.
Select one of the available widgets and click Configure
Configure the widget entering the required fields once selected.
Select + Add to Playlist once the widget is configured.
Templates
Digital Signage Templates allow schools to create consistent and polished signage content for displays across school communities. Templates can be added to new or existing playlists. All templates can be displayed in landscape or portrait mode to fully optimize all screen orientations.
Our latest release includes 11 templates tailored for campus communications: Timetable Changes, Back to School, General Announcement, Student Celebration, Simple Celebration, Event, Weekly Events, Upcoming Events, Simple Announcement, Class Schedule, Classroom Changes.
Adding a Template
Templates can be added to signage through the Select Content window when creating or editing a Playlist or Signage Schedule.
Select the Templates from the list of content types.
Select a template from the list. This will open the Template Editor
In the Template Editor, you can modify text, background colours, and images in the template to design your content for Digital Signage.
You can press preview to see a preview of your current design.
You can press the portrait/landscape switcher to view your design in a different layout.
You can press save to save your template settings and return to Digital Signage.
You can also choose a custom colour in the colour picker.
When modifying a playlist, a user is able to add multiple instances of the same template, with different configurations.
