Power Management

CEC Power Management

With Vivi firmware 2.5 and greater you can now use CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) with Vivi to power your devices ON and OFF via Vivi Central or the Vivi Web Console.

Compatibility

We recommend before using this feature on mass, that you test the feature compatibility with your display. To do so, plug a Vivi Box into the display and navigate to the Box's Web Console.

  • Once in there select "Power Management" on the left hand side.

  • Next select "HDMI CEC" from the Mode option and select Save at the bottom of the page.

  • Now click the Power Off button

If your display then turns OFF - the CEC functions of Vivi are compatible with your display.

If the display doesn't turn OFF - turn the display off and press the Power On button.

If the display then turns ON - this means your display only supports CEC Power On with Vivi and we recommend using "Disable HDMI Output" in conjunction with CEC to turn the display OFF.

If neither option works -  Vivi CEC is not compatible with your device.

Active Period

With Vivi CEC you can set a display to be turned ON at the beginning of an active period and OFF at the end of the active period. Displays will remain ON during the active period. Outside of the active period, displays will be turned OFF when idle.
