Restarting

There are two options for restarting the Vivi Box – a Soft Restart (which only restarts the software) and a Hard Restart (which fully restarts the device).

To find the restart buttons, select the "Status" link in the Web Console. The buttons are located at the bottom of the "Status" screen.

Soft Restart

A "Soft Restart" simply restarts the software. It is particularly useful when making configuration changes to ensure that they are in use immediately. It will also synchronise any updated information back to Vivi Central.

Select the "Soft Restart" button to perform a Soft Restart. This process takes around one second. The Web Console will not be operational while the Soft Restart takes place.

Hard Restart

A "Hard Restart" fully restarts the Box. It is equivalent to turning the power off and on, and allowing the Box to have a full reboot.

Select the "Hard Restart" button to perform a Hard Restart. This process is longer than a Soft Restart and takes around 45 seconds. The Web Console will not be operational during this time period.

Factory Reset

A factory reset will wipe all configuration data from the device. Before this Vivi Box can be used again, you will need to contact Vivi Support to reactivate it.
