Web Console Password
The Web Console password is the password that allows an IT Admin to log directly into a Vivi box which allows you to edit the settings on that device. We strongly recommend to change the default password on these devices when you receive them.
There are 3 methods to update the Web Console password in Vivi Central:
Update the Web Console password by Organisation
In Vivi Central, navigate to ‘Organisation’ and the ‘Details’ tab on the top menu.
Click the edit button in the top right corner and enter a new password in the ‘Web Console Password’ field.
Select ‘Save Changes’ to confirm.
Update the Web Console password by Location or Sub-Location
In Vivi Central, navigate to ‘Organisation’ and the ‘Locations’ section.
Select a location and click the ‘Edit’ button.
In the pop-up window, enter a new password or click the ‘Inherit From Parent’ button to inherit the organisation level password.
The methods above of changing the Web Console password was introduced as part of the 3.7.2 release.
The methods above will only change the password on Vivi’s using the default password. If you are already using a custom password, you will need to inherit the password manually on each Vivi.
Update the Web Console password on an individual Vivi
Navigate to 'Devices' in Vivi Central and click on the MAC ID of a Vivi.
Navigate to the ‘Technical’ tab on the top menu.
Select ‘Edit’ on the top right corner and enter a new password in the ‘Web Console Password’ field
Select ‘Save Changes’ to confirm.
Inheriting passwords from Locations or Organisation levels
When setting passwords at a Location or Sub-Location level and at the Individual Vivi level, you will have the option to inherit where the password comes from.
When editing a password a button will appear that will allow you to inherit the password from the level above.
For Locations:
When editing a password in the pop-up menu in the Edit Location screen mention above, you can inherit the password from the Organisation level.
For Individual Vivi’s:
When editing a password in the pop-up menu in the Edit Location screen mention above, you can inherit the password from the Organisation level
